What Productivity Month
aims to achieve.
What began as a week of raising awareness around productivity
and competitiveness has now developed into Productivity Month. And
in this month, the whole of South Africa will be given the opportunity
to learn how to be more productive in their everyday lives by joining
Productivity SA in making a real difference to our country's economy.
The main objectives of Productivity
Month are to:
- Promote productivity within the South African industry.
- Raise awareness of the potential role of productivity in growing
and developing our economy.
- Promote Productivity SA programmes and their outcomes-based
solutions to assist ailing companies.
- Increase South Africa's competitiveness.
What challenges do we face?
According to the International Institute for Management Development
(IMD) Report 2009 that was based on overall performance, the World
Competitiveness Yearbook (WCY) identified a number of challenges
facing the country during 2009. For more about these challenges,

How can I be more productive?
A better South Africa begins with you! Here's how you can
be more productive in your daily life and play your part in boosting
our country's future economy.
• Keep a positive attitude at all times. • Make sure you
plan your day and set goals for yourself. • Be prepared and
be certain that you have the right tools for the job. • Share
your dreams and goals by inspiring others and working as a team.
• Every few hours, make an effort to check that you really
are giving your best. • Be creative. Don't be afraid to think
of better ways of doing things. Work smarter, not harder. • Be committed to your work at all times. • Never give up. • Be a leader, not a follower. • Set good examples for your fellow
workers.
We've come a long way since 1969. To keep giving our best, we're
going to need yours - because a better life, begins with you!
To see where we're headed,
you need to know how far we've come.
